The things that we want to talk about are the things that excite us. Everyday details that make us feel good, stuff that someone can relate to; sometimes as simple as a cup of coffee; maybe it sounds naïve but we do hope our posts to be a contribution. We focus on the positive aspects of life in order to expand them. This is our personal value and blogging evolves around that as well. Aegean culture with its unique diversity can help us develop a new visual language; re-design a holistic life approach that is conscious and fulfilling… And that brings us back to the things that are exciting:)
For me, cooking is exciting, eating, is more exciting. I often flirt with this image, of going to the market to chose the freshest vegetables or even better- take them straight from the farm; go home, pick out one of the shiny copper saucepans and start cooking, while fresh flowers are in the vase and classical music is playing on the radio. Well, that’ s not how it is – not at all; Most of the days, by the time I go to the market everything good is finished, and my farming attempts are back to a visualizing process… I don’t have copper saucepans and every year I plan to enlarge my modest collection of Le Creuset pots and I never do. A lot of the things I cook flop and I may have listened to classical music while cooking just once in the last ten years… Nevertheless, I am still inspired by this image to blog and blogging made me start noticing the little things in life. The little things in life are great: not only healthy, but also the best way to start a conversation! After all, it all comes down to that: building an honest communication; exchanging ideas; evolving; interacting.

Maria I know EXACTLY how you feel and I do the same. It is the simple things in life that make it worthwhile. Listen to more classical music when you cook. Personally I listen to Aretha Franklin because she gets me moving in the kitchen. I am so glad I discovered this site thanks to my good friend A.P. We are on the same wavelength.
I couldn’t agree more – I had the simple life living in Crete for a number of years and I am now back in a city the other side of the world. How I yearn for that simple life and try to maintain remnants of it on a daily basis – simple things like growing fresh oregano, Greek basil, thyme on my window sill – and now blogging and writing and illustrating my life in Greece through words and my photographs. Your site is inspiring – thank you. Francesca Muir
