July is almost over. I guess that most you are dreaming of holidays. I know I am. It’ s this time of the year again: TV is full of slimming products and ice cream commercials. But TVs are getting more silent every day that passes; feeling restless, we stay up late now, observing the circles of the moon from city balconies and island beaches. It’s funny how a summer full moon can become so important. Holding a cold drink in our hands, we unconsciously look for the familiar face of the moon to reassure us about our place in the world. After that, we can change our pace and try to move towards a different direction. Pure-summer thoughts. Pure-summer intentions… After all, this is the friendliest season for expanding our boundaries and discovering something new. Am I talking about freedom? It could sound naive or presumptuous but yes, why not? One can feel rather free when dives into the summer without guides, program and expectations.
We won’t tell you where to swim. Maybe the beach you were dreaming all winter will be crowded; maybe you will be alone there. We won’t tell you what to order in that sea-view tavern. Maybe it will be something good, maybe it won’ t. We won’t even tell you to leave the city. The perfect holiday, like the perfect relationship, doesn’t exist: there is only a perfect reality and a perfect intention to let the summer lull our worries. August, the month of miracles is about to begin.
